Andrew Warden — Transport & Travel Photographer, UK
Photography, for me, has always started with curiosity — about where things go, how they connect, and what happens in the spaces between departure and arrival.
I'm a UK-based photographer with a particular passion for railways, public transport, and travel. My work spans steam and heritage railways across Britain, the vast urban rail networks of China and Hong Kong, the trams and buses of European cities, and the coastal landscapes of Galicia and Asturias in northern Spain. Each project is rooted in the same instinct: to slow down, pay attention, and find the image that captures not just a place, but a feeling.
I'm drawn to the overlooked details of everyday travel — the worn platform bench, the departure board clicking over, the light falling through a station canopy. But equally, I'm interested in the bigger picture: the way transport shapes cities, connects communities, and carries the traces of history into the present.
My galleries bring together work from years of travel across the UK, Europe, and Asia. Alongside the images, I write about the stories behind the journeys — the planning, the early mornings, the unexpected finds — in the Behind the Lens section of this site.
